Tehran to Istanbul Train

 

This train leaves Tehran to Istanbul in the evening on Wednesday and arrives in Haydar Pasha (the Asian part of Istanbul) on Saturday after about 70 hours. The return from Istanbul is on Tuesday evening and the train arrives in Tehran on Friday. After passing Zanjan, Tabriz, and Salmas stations (getting on and off are taken place only in Zanjan, Tabriz and Salmas) it enters to the border. In Tabriz station, customs formalities, and along Salmas to Razi station final control and passport sealing are performed by disciplinary officers inside the train. Then, along the route, after passing the border station of Razi, the train stops in the border station of Kapikoy in Turkey for checking passports and custom regulations by the officers of this country. Next stations are Van and Van jetty stations. In Van again custom regulations are performed. Passengers get on the ship in Van jetty and after five hours of traveling by ship they reach Tatvan jetty and continue their traveling to Turkey by the Turkish first class train of sleeping compartments. The train arrives Haydar pasha in Istanbul after passing Elazig, Malatya, Sivas, Kayseri, Ankara, and Eskishehir stations.

The distance between Tehran and Haydar Pasha Stations is 2966 Kilometers.

To avoid any problem, passengers should notice ticket labels distinguishing their seats in both Iran and Turkey Trains.
